Meet Nokha

Nokha is a mom, wife, healthcare worker and school board trustee who is raising her 5 year old daughter in the community of Meadowvale in northwestern Mississauga.

She served as the elected Public School Board Trustee for Wards 9 and 10 for eight years.  Nokha has a track record of proven results for her community.  She led the charge to increase support for special education, reduce busing distances, advance numerous infrastructure projects, and was a champion for equity issues for children in the school system.

Nokha is also an ICU / Acute Care Social Worker.  She worked at both Credit Valley Hospital and Mississauga Hospital.  Like many frontline workers, she worked in the Pandemic Response Unit during the peak of the COVID-19 crisis.

She is running for City Council because she cares about her community.  Meadowvale is her home.  Nokha and her husband are raising their young family in Meadowvale.  Her mother, a senior citizen, also stays in Meadowvale.  Nokha's husband's parents, also seniors, live in the southern part of our Ward, the Central Erin Mills neighbourhood.

Nokha is personally invested in making Ward 9 the best it can be for our children, our seniors and all our neighbours.
